Born on September 13, 1941, in Osaka, Japan.

 

Around 1957, he began to practice professional boxing.

 

From 1959 to 1961, he inspected Japanese traditional architecture.

 

From 1962 to 1969, he studied in America, Europe and Africa.

 

In 1969, he founded Tadao Ando Architecture & associates.

 

In 1969, Tadao Ando Architecture Research Institute was established in Osaka, and many personal residences were designed. Among them, Osaka's "live in Ji's long house" (live in Ji's long house) "was highly praised.

 

In the 1980s, many commercial facilities, temples and churches were designed around Kansai (especially around Kitano Machi, Kobe and Shinsaibashi, Osaka).

 

1987 - visiting professor at Yale University.

 

1988 - visiting professor at Columbia University.

 

Since the 1990s, the number of public buildings, art galleries and overseas architectural designs has increased.

 

1989 - visiting professor at Harvard University.

 

1995 - Pritzker Architecture Award.

 

1997 - taught in the Department of architecture, Tokyo University, Japan, and served as a professor in the Department of engineering, Tokyo University.

 

1997 - 2003 - retired from Tokyo University and transferred to honorary professor.

 

2005 - Professor of life special honor, University of Tokyo.

 

2011 - visiting professor of Southeast University.
